Karnatak Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Nine Districts
Hubballi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the retreat of the southwest monsoon from Karnataka within two days, with conditions favorable for the onset of the northeast monsoon in South Interior Karnataka.
A yellow alert has been issued for nine districts, including Bengaluru Urban, Tumakuru, and Mysuru, on October 16 and 17, predicting heavy rainfall. Widespread heavy rainfall is expected in coastal and interior regions from October 14 to 18, following low-pressure systems in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. IMD’s C S Patil stated thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls may accompany the rain over the next five days.
